Haowen Shu, Peking University Boya Young Scholar, Assiatant Professor, PhD Supervisor, and Research Professorat the Institute of Information and Communication, School of Electronics. He received his B.E. in Engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (2015) and his Ph.D. in Engineering from Peking University (2020). He was a "Boya" Postdoctoral Fellow at Peking University (2020, 2022). He was selected for the "Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program" (2020), is the Principal Investigator of a National Key R&D Program Young Scientist Project (2022), and received the Excellent Young Scientists Fund (EYSF) from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) (2023).

His primary research focuses on silicon-based integrated optoelectronic information systems, including device performance optimization and system architecture design, with applications in data center communications, microwave/millimeter-wave photonic signal processing, high-performance sensing, and computing. In recent years, he has published over 50 academic papers in related fields, including more than 20 papers as first/co-first or corresponding/co-corresponding author in journals such as Nature, Nature Photonics, Nature Communications, Science Advances, and Light: Science & Applications, as well as in Optica/IEEE conference series. His work has been selected for China's Top 10 Optical Advances, China's Top 10 Scientific and Technological Innovations Award, China's Top 10 Social Impact Events in Optics, and a Nomination Award for China's Top 10 Semiconductor Research Advances, among others. He received the First Prize of the Beijing Natural Science Award (Ranked 2nd) in 2024. His previous honors include the 7th China Optical Engineering Society Innovation Paper Award (2020), Outstanding Postdoctoral Fellow of Peking University (2022), selection as a National Microwave Photonics Academic Rising Star (2022), and the PhotoniX Prize from the Chinese Society for Optical Engineering (CSOE) (2024).
